Did you know that along with our studio, Main Street Photo and Studio also has a full service photo lab? We can print your digital images, process and print your 35mm and 120films, scan your pictures and even do restorations. One of the coolest things of working here is seeing all the really old pictures come in to be reproduced. It’s like getting a glimpse of real history.
How many of you have boxes with all your old photos and negatives sitting in the closet? Are you thinking that one of these days you should really go through them and get them organized, maybe even scanned and burned to a cd? I know I’m definitely guilty of that. The biggest problem is I never get that far. So the box sits in my basement.
Or worse yet, my grandma has all of our old family pictures stored in her basement. The problem is that her basement is kind of damp. Damp is probably putting it mildly! It worries me to think of all those pictures from way back when just sitting there deteriorating. But even if you have the scanner who has the time to sit down and get them all scanned into the computer?
Well, we may be able to help you with that. We currently have a sale on scans, reproductions, and restorations. What a great opportunity to preserve those images for future generations to look back on!
Don’t put it off any longer. Get those boxes out and take a look of your family’s history. Why not get copies made for the rest of the family, or have them put to cd so they can make their own copies.
Happy New Year Everyone!
It’s so exciting to kick off a new year. There’s so much to look forward to, the hope of actually following through on some of those resolutions! I’m not much of a resolution maker myself, but I did include this blog in one of them. My aim is to post at least three times a week, but I will settle for at least one a week. There’s so much going on this year that I should not have a problem finding things to post about.
We plan on doing some new events at the studio this year. We had such a success with Santa Claus that we would like to try do more special events like that. So, stay tuned to hear more as they come up.
I plan on kicking off our first photo contest of the year next week. This time the winner will be displayed in our front window.
Until then…
Yesterday was my best friend, Carmella’s birthday. So if you happen to see her, with her a belated happy birthday. She helps us out here at the studio part-time. Carm usually works during the busy season around Christmas when everything gets really crazy here. She also decorates our windows. I think she’s been doing an amazing job with the windows (even though I may be a little biased.) I don’t know where she gets all her ideas but so far they have all turned out pretty good.
I’ve wanted to try to find a more personal tone in our blog and I guess here is my chance to start. Carm has pretty much been the sister I’ve never had. It’s kind of funny since both of us are only children. We met up in grade school and have been unstoppable ever since. Her dad always said that sisters don’t get along as well as we did. We always told him it was because we were sisters by choice.
We made it through high school, college, marriage, divorce and the loss of loved ones. We’ve traveled many roads separately but have always known we were there for each other when we needed extra strength.
I confess I am probably not the best friend a person could have. All too often I let living get in the way of life. I find myself caught in the trap of what has to be done and forgetting about what should be done. I am so happy that she has put up with me all these years!
All of us have the one person who is truly special in our lives, the one who has made a difference and gives us strength when we are weak. I want to hear your stories about your best friend. Give them a round of applause and tell them how important they are and what they really mean to you!
And the winner is.....#13. Congratulations!
2nd place went to #2 and there was a tie for 3rd place between #7 and #3. Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote and make this month's contest a success. The new contest should be up within the next week or two. Stay tuned for more fun pictures!
As our July contest winds down, be sure to vote for your favorite image. I think in August we may be do two contests. One here on our website and the other for Seniors on our Facebook page. The images with the most votes will be used in our display at the Central Wisconsin State Fair.
Don't forget to stop back and check out our winner for this contest on August 1st.
Also, if you see Jenny be sure to wish her a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Wow! What a great day yesterday. I am so lucky to work at such a great place that lets me meet so many wonderful people. I sat in for Jenny on one of her senior slide shows yesterday. It’s always so fun to see the client’s reactions to their senior portraits. We had a great time picking out the poses for their package. They were really pleased with the whole experience. This is what Alice had to say about it…
“Jenny did a great job taking my son’s senior pictures. I was so worried because even as a child Travis hated his picture taken. Jenny did a fantastic job with him. She just started talking with him (his likes and dislikes). Soon they were laughing and joking around and she continued to take pictures. Keep up the good work MSPS. I definitely will be telling my family and friends what an awesome job you guys did!”
Thank you for your kind words Alice.
