Happy Birthday Carm!

Yesterday was my best friend, Carmella’s birthday.  So if you happen to see her, with her a belated happy birthday.  She helps us out here at the studio part-time.  Carm usually works during the busy season around Christmas when everything gets really crazy here.  She also decorates our windows.  I think she’s been doing an amazing job with the windows (even though I may be a little biased.)  I don’t know where she gets all her ideas but so far they have all turned out pretty good.

I’ve wanted to try to find a more personal tone in our blog and I guess here is my chance to start.  Carm has pretty much been the sister I’ve never had.  It’s kind of funny since both of us are only children.  We met up in grade school and have been unstoppable ever since.  Her dad always said that sisters don’t get along as well as we did.  We always told him it was because we were sisters by choice.

We made it through high school, college, marriage, divorce and the loss of loved ones.  We’ve traveled many roads separately but have always known we were there for each other when we needed extra strength.

I confess I am probably not the best friend a person could have.  All too often I let living get in the way of life.  I find myself caught in the trap of what has to be done and forgetting about what should be done.  I am so happy that she has put up with me all these years! 

All of us have the one person who is truly special in our lives, the one who has made a difference and gives us strength when we are weak.  I want to hear your stories about your best friend.  Give them a round of applause and tell them how important they are and what they really mean to you!
